Red Dwarf to air in September on Dave

The new series of Red Dwarf will air on digital channel Dave this September according to actor Robert Llewellyn.

The actor revealed the return date for the next series of Red Dwarf via a tweet on the social networking site Twitter. The actor tweeted ‘Red Dwarf X will be broadcast on Dave in September 2012’.

It was revealed last year that Dave had ordered a six-part series of the sci-fi comedy after its successful revival in 2009. A three-part Easter Special aired on Dave with strong ratings.

Actors Chris Barrie, Danny John-Jules, Robert Llewellyn and Craig Charles – who has taken time out from Coronation Street – are all returning for the 10th season. Red Dwarf – which is currently being filmed – has returned to its original format of filming in front of a live studio audience.

The comedy originally ran on BBC Two between 1988 and 1999 clocking up eight seasons and over 50 episodes.
