General Hospital ratings continue to drop

General HospitalABC‘s sole remaining soap, General Hospital, saw its ratings drop once again last week while the other remaining daytime soaps in America all gained viewers.

In the first week following the finale of ABC’s One Life to Live it would seem that viewers have not migrated to the only other soap on the broadcaster now; General Hospital. The medical saga saw its ratings fall against the previous week while the other daytime serials in America all gained viewers. It doesn’t make good reading for fans of GH considering its future has never been in more doubt. It will be interesting though to see what the ratings do when some of those One Life to Live characters crossover to Port Charles – doubtless bosses will be hoping for a much needed boost. Last week GH had an average of 2.2 million viewers making it the least watched soap.

CBS‘s The Young and the Restless was, unsurprisingly, the top-rated soap with 5.06 million viewers while Los Angeles based The Bold and the Beautiful had 3.4 million viewers. Meanwhile NBC‘s Days of our Lives, which is also considered vulnerable to the axe, had 2.5 million viewers increasing its week-on-week viewing but was down against last year’s figures.
