Chelsee Healey and Nancy Dell’Olio have been tipped to replace Alesha Dixon as a judge on Strictly Come Dancing.
The duo competed in the most recent run of the beeb’s popular entertainment format with Waterloo Road star Healey coming second to Harry Judd. Dell’Olio was voted off in the fourth week of the competition with subsequent media reports claiming the Italian businesswoman was considering taking legal action over comments Dixon had made about her dancing.
It was announced earlier this year that Dixon had quit the celebrity dancing competition to take up a place on the panel of ITV1’s Britain’s Got Talent. The press have since mooted several names as her replacement on Strictly, the latest being the aforementioned two.
“BBC bosses have a shortlist of about eight names and Chelsee is one of them. She would do really well with younger viewers and help bring in a new demographic. As a successful past contestant – like Alesha was – Chelsee will understand exactly what the celebs are going through and bring with her that empathy. Bosses have already sounded Chelsee out but Nancy has her heart set on the role.” – Source speaking to The Mirorr
Karen Hardy, Jill Halfpenny and Russell Grant have also been linked to the role while Darcey Bussell and Jennifer Grey, both of whom have been guest judges on Stirctly before, have also been suggested. A number of fans are also calling for former judge Arlene Phillips to be reinstated to the format.
