BBC Worldwide have revealed that the international format of BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing has been picked up in Panama. The dancing programme, which is sold around the world as ‘Dancing with the Stars’ has become one of the UK’s most successful programmes to be exported.

TVN 2 will produce the local version and is likely to air later this year. Gareth Williams, SVP of Content & Production for South America, BBC Worldwide, said, “Dance is deeply rooted in Latin American culture, so we’re very excited about bringing the original and official Dancing with the Stars format to Panama with our partners at TVN 2.  One of Dancing with the Stars’ greatest features is its ability to engage a wide variety of viewers from all age groups, and I can’t wait for dance fever to spread across Panama and Latin America.”
