Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy for E4.

Channel 4 has commissioned a second series of Noel Fielding’s Luxury Comedy for E4.

The comedy which mixes live action and animation launched on E4 last week and still has six weeks to run. One of the reasons cited by Channel 4 for its recommission is that the show seems “modern and pioneering”. The second run is expected next year.

Noel Fielding said: “Delighted to get a second series of Luxury Comedy- we’ll definitely make the second one more like a Wednesday morning. Channel Four have been so supportive and given us creative freedom to experiment with ideas and techniques. And I think we can push things further and make something even more out there next time.”

Fielding rose to fame in The Mighty Boosh which began on stage in the late 90s before being turned into a radio show for the BBC. Following the success on radio a television series was commissioned for BBC Three. It ran between 2004 and 2007.
