E4 to axe Desperate Scousewives?
E4 series Desperate Scousewives is reportedly set to be axed after just one series.
The scripted reality series is a play on the hit US drama Desperate Housewives and follows in the footsteps of established scripted reality shows Made in Chelsea and The Only Way is Essex. However, reports state Desperate Scousewives faces the axe after just one series because it has failed to make an impact with viewers.
“We had hoped Desperate Scousewives would really give TOWIE a run for its money. But sadly that’s not been the case. For whatever reason people have just not warmed to the characters and there hasn’t been a great buzz.” – A “source” speaking to the Daily Star
The series has been widely panned by critics though the cast are reportedly trying to launch a campaign, via social media, to get E4 to commission a second series. Among the cast of Desperate Scousewives are Sam Wools, Chloe Cummins, Joe McMahon and Danny Latimer but the series has failed to produce a star along the lines of Amy Childs or Mark Wright.
