Fans launch campaign to save Terra Nova

Terra NovaFans of Fox‘s time-travelling drama Terra Nova are banding together to get a second series renewed.

Fox has yet to make a decision about Terra Nova which stars Shelley Conn and Jason O’Mara. The series revolves around colonists from the future travelling back to in time to the Cretaceous period when dinosaurs ruled the planet. Terra Nova debuted to decent ratings but across its first series they decline somewhat. Now a question mark hangs over the future of the series; will Fox renew a hugely expensive series with average ratings?

Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly recently said ”We’ll decide very soon, because it does need to get back into production in the next month’ But as yet there is still no word on its future so fans have decided to launch a campaign – with the backing of actor Jason O’Mara – to convince Fox they renew Terra Nova. The fans feel the strong performances – so far – of Alcatraz and Touch mean a renewal of Terra Nova seems unlikely.

So what will this campaign entail? Well perhaps inspired by campaigns of the past by fans to save their beloved shows the Terra Nova fans plan to send plastic dinosaur toys to Fox. Jericho fans sent in peanuts to CBS when it cancelled the post-apocalyptic series was cancelled and it worked; a second series was awarded. Fans have also launched a Facebook page to go with the campaign which you can visit here >>
