The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Concert has been organised by the BBC and Gary Barlow and will take place on the 4th June 2012. A stage will be erected around the Queen Victoria Memorial which is located in-front of the Palace. Yesterday a ballot was launched for those who want to attend.

The concert is expected to be one of the TV centre-pieces of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations which take place between 2nd and 5th June. BBC One, BBC One HD and BBC Radio 2 will have live coverage. In America, ABC will have highlights which will be shown the following day.

Musical Director Gary Barlow said: “The Diamond Jubilee concert will celebrate the 60 years of The Queen’s reign with an amazing line-up of world-class artists coming together to play at one of the biggest and most exciting live music shows in recent years.”

The BBC also announced this week that BBC News at Ten anchor Huw Edwards will be the main presenter for  the four-day celebrations. Edwards said: “We want viewers to enjoy our coverage of the Diamond Jubilee as much as they did last year’s Royal Wedding, and I feel honoured to be included in the BBC’s plans.”
