Mistresses to get American remake
BBC One drama Mistresses is to be remade for American audiences.
Broadcast report that a remake of the drama is currently being developed by ABC with it being given a full series order. KJ Steinberg will act as executive producer on the series and will Douglas Rae of production company Ecoose Films who produced Mistresses for the BBC.
Mistresses starred Shelley Conn, Sarah Parish, Sharon Small and Orla Brady and ran for three seasons on BBC One between 2008 and 2010. It revolved around the romantic lives of four women and the affairs and relationships with tested their friendship – it was seen by some as a British version of Sex and the City. Mistresses met with mixed reviews from the critics and average ratings.
