Countdown to 9th Irish Film and Television Awards

The 9th annual Irish Film and Television Awards (IFTA) takes place tonight in Dublin.

The awards celebrate the best of Irish from film and television and will be screened tonight on RTE One at 9.30pm (Ireland only). Mrs Brown’s Boys (pictured), which has been an explosive hit comedy for RTE and BBC One is nominated in the best Entertainment Programme category. It’s up against Master Chef Ireland, Hardy Bucks and The Savage Eye.

Best Film category comprises of Charlie Casanova, The Guard, Stella Days and Albert Nobbs. Albert Nobbs received mixed reviews when released last month but received several nominations for American award ceremonies.
