Steve McFadden looking forward to Letitia Dean’s EastEnders return

Steve McFadden has said he is looking forward to Letitia Dean’s forthcoming return to EastEnders.

It was announced earlier this week that Letitia Dean would be returning to the BBC One soap once more to reprise her role of Sharon Rickman – the character is better known as Sharon Watts. Sharon will return once more to Walford this Summer after six years away and actor Steve McFadden, who plays Phil Mitchell, is looking forward to the return.

‘We’ve a lot of history in the show. When Letitia was here, it was the golden era of EastEnders. I’m happy about her returning. I reckon they must have some good plots in the pipeline for us. Letitia is a pretty lady so they’ll probably put her behind the bar or give her a central storyline. Now she’s coming back, I’m sure it will be brilliant.’ – Steve McFadden quoted by The People

Letitia Dean last appeared in EastEnders in January 2006 when Sharon was written out of the soap following the murder of her husband Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman) at the hands of gangster Johnny Allen (Billy Murray). Sharon left Walford to move to America where her long-term friend Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully) moved to in the 1990s. Over the years Sharon has been mentioned a few times with her friend Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) having visited her on occasions.

The circumstances of Sharon’s return to Walford have not yet been revealed.
