Diva TV closes down

Diva TVUK digital channel Diva TV has gone off air as it programming shifts to the Style Network.

It was announced in January that the NBC Universal owned digital channel would go off-air in February as its programmes move over to the Style Network instead. Diva TV was available on the Sky and Virgin Media platforms but earlier this week the channel closed down.

Diva TV showed lifestyle programmes such as The Oprah Winfrey Show, The Talk, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Queer Eye for a Straight Guy. The digital channel also aired American daytime soap The Bold and the Beautiful but stopped broadcasting episodes in 2010 despite the serial being Diva TV’s highest rated programme. The axing of The Bold and the Beautiful from its schedules prompted a backlash from fans, who started a campaign to bring the series back, as well as noticeable drop in ratings for Diva TV.
