General Hospital sinks to new ratings low
Struggling ABC soap General Hospital has sunk to a new ratings low.
The medical soap’s future is already under considerable doubt given the fact that Katie Couric’s new chat-show will launch, later this year, in the time-slot General Hospital currently occupies. There are rumours and hearsay flying around concerning the future of General Hospital with a possible move to another time-slot, into prime-time or outright cancellation just some of the ideas being put forward. General Hospital‘s continued ratings woes do not spell good tidings for its future. For the week of the 6th February the ABC soap sank to a new low with 2.1 million viewers.
Elsewhere that week The Young and the Restless dropped to 4.7 million viewers on CBS while The Bold and the Beautiful once again posted gains on last year with 3.3 million viewers. NBC‘s last remaining soap Days of our Lives managed to gain viewers over the previous week but was still down against last year with 2.4 million viewers.
