Simon Cowell searching for two new hosts for X Factor USA
Simon Cowell has revealed he is searching for two new hosts for the second season of X Factor USA.
Cowell has confirmed he is seeking two hosts to replace Steve Jones who has already been confirmed as out of the second series on Fox. The original idea for the first series was that Steve Jones and Nicole Scherzinger would present but the singer was moved to the judges panel when Cheryl Cole was ditched after just a few days and no replacement co-host was drafted in.
Cowell is now returning to that original idea of two hosts. He is quoted by Digital Spy as saying ‘It will be two. What we’ve learned on the show is you have so much information you have to relay as one person that I think it’s almost impossible to have one person doing the hosting job. You have to give out so much information from phonelines to integration of the sponsors; they are like newscasters now, it’s a much bigger role….I think there is a more fun way of doing it with two people, they can be in different parts of the studio throughout the show. I think you’ll see a very different chemistry with two people. I always wanted a boy and girl to host the show and I think that will happen now.’
At the moment press speculation is firmly concentrated on the new judges, to replace Scherzinger and Paula Abdul, with Katy Perry, Janet Jackson and Mariah Carey so far all suggested as possible new judges.
