A for Andromeda actor Peter Halliday has died aged 87

Sci-fi actor dies.

Television actor Peter Halliday, perhaps best known for his variety of roles in Doctor Who, as well as the science-fiction drama A for Andromeda has died at the age of 87 it has been reported.

Halliday appeared in several Doctor Who stories, playing different characters, between 1968 and 1987.

He worked with actors Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker and Sylvester McCoy appearing in the stories: The Invasion, Carnival of Monsters, City of Death and Remembrance of the Daleks. Halliday also voiced characters in the stories Doctor Who and the Silurians, The Ambassadors of Death and, also, City of Death.

Doctor Who was just one of the many shows that the actor appeared in with other notable appearances in The District Nurse, Lovejoy, Goodnight Sweetheart, Dalziel and Pascoe, Colditz, Doomwatch, UFO, The Saint, The Andromeda Breakthrough and A for Andromeda.
