Star Trek fans vote for favourite Captain

Star Trek fans have been asked to vote for their favourite Captain from the five television series in several different polls to find which one the fans prefer most.

The five captains, in case you need reminding, are; James T Kirk (William Shatner) of the original series, Jean-Luc Picard (Patrick Stewart) of The Next Generation, Benjamin Sisko of Deep Space Nine (Avery Brooks), Kathryn Janeway (Kate Mulgrew) of Voyager and Jonathan Archer (Scott Bakula) of prequel series Enterprise.

Fans of Star Trek were asked to vote in several different polls – on Star Trek.Com – regarding different aspects of the Captains to find which one topped every category to become the best captain. Well the winner was…..Jean-Luc Picard of The Next Generation but Voyager‘s Kathryn Janeway was a close second- sadly Captain Archer of the Enterprise came last.

So what were the different categories? Well Which Star Trek captain was the most inspiring, Which Star Trek captain was the most intelligent, Which Star Trek captain was the most decisive and Which Star Trek captain was the most courageous. Picard won three categories; most inspiring, most decisive and most intelligent (which he won by a large margin) while Janeway won most courageous – so with three categories under his belt Picard was the overall winner.
