George Clooney addresses gay rumours
Hollywood actor George Clooney has addressed rumours concerning his sexuality.
Like many Hollywood actors George Clooney has been subject of rumours concerning his sexuality for many years. The actor, who’s big break came in medical drama ER, is currently dating Stacy Keibler but that hasn’t stopped rumours circulating that he’s secretly gay. The actor has addressed those rumours in a new interview with The Advocate.
The actor, star of The Descendants, told the magazine ‘I’m not going to make it seem like being gay is a bad thing. My private life is private, and I’m very happy in it. Who does it hurt if someone thinks I’m gay? I’ll be long dead and there will still be people who say I was gay. I don’t give a s**t.”
Clooney is amongst the cast of Dustin Lance Black’s play 8 which is based on the California’s controversial bill Proposition 8 which outlawed gay marriage in the state but was ruled unconstitutional earlier this month. On marriage equality the actor told Advocate ‘I’ve made the point that every time we’ve stood against equality, we’ve been on the wrong side of history. It’s the same kind of argument they made when they didn’t want blacks to serve in the military, or when they didn’t want blacks to marry whites. One day the marriage equality fight will look archaic’
The cast of Dustin Lance Black’s play will also include Matt Bomer, Jamie Lee Curtis, George Takei and Matthew Morrison according to the Los Angeles Times.
