The Voice dominates Monday ratings for NBC
NBC‘s musical drama Smash, which stars Jack Davenport and Anjelica Huston, saw its ratings rise last night while J.J Abram’s new Fox series Alcatraz held steady.
At 8pm NBC’s singing competition The Voice had 16.3 million viewers with a whopping 5.8 18-49 rating. The series added even more viewers in the 9pm hour as it rose to 17 million viewers overall and an impressive 6.3 18-49 rating. Needless to say with figures that high The Voice dominated both hours but then there was a distant lack of competition as CBS aired repeats.

After weeks of decline – since the series premiered – its ratings were more steady last night but some are already predicting Alcatraz is heading straight for cancellation; do you agree? Elsewhere at 8pm it was repeats with CBS’s How I Met Your Mother mustering 6.1 million viewers and a 2.0 rating followed by 2 Broke Girls with 7 million viewers and a 2.1 rating.
