CNN to meet the world’s ‘Leading Women’

Beginning today, on International Women’s Day, CNN International viewers will have the chance to meet some of the most influential women of our time, in a new series that will shed light on their careers, lives and ideas.

Leading Women is a new interview feature that will appear across CNN International and online on CNN.com. It will showcase two extraordinary women each week – both remarkable professionals who have made it to the top, each in their own way.

The programme will air as five-minute weekly segments in Connect the World and News Stream. These features will be wrapped up once a month as a 15-minute monthly programme, presented in turn by CNN anchors Becky Anderson, Kristie Lu Stout and Felicia Taylor (Pictured, above, right). The series will focus on influential women across all areas of business, the arts, sport, culture and more.

The series premiere will spotlight New York based fashion designer and entrepreneur, Carolina Herrera (pictured, above left), and Chinese-born Marvell Technology co-founder Weili Dai. Originally from Venezuela, Herrera has built a fashion empire that has seen her work with clients from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to Renee Zellweger; while California-educated Dai, described by Forbes magazine as a ‘tech wonder woman’, oversees a company with annual revenues of $3.6 billion.
