Channel 4 appoints Head of Features and Factual Formats

Former CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh has been appointed head of features and factual formats at Channel 4.

In his new role Damian will oversee all programming across Factual Entertainment, Features and Daytime and will report directly to Chief Creative Officer Jay Hunt.

Jay Hunt said: “Damian has a great track record creatively and is an inspiring leader. He also has a knack for being able to translate great audience insight into unmissable shows and this makes him an invaluable addition to an already strong team.”

As well as working in senior roles within television he has also produced a range of programming including Escape to the Country and Hospital Heroes.

Damian said: “I’m delighted to be joining Channel 4 at this exciting time. There’s a lot of creative renewal already under way and I’m absolutely passionate about commissioning innovative and talked-about programmes. I can’t wait to get stuck in.”
