CBS wins Tuesday evening ratings battle

Mark HarmonCBS wins the Tuesday evening ratings battle with NCIS and spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles pulling in big numbers.

However, even though NCIS won the 8pm hour it was still down on previous weeks but was more than enough to beat the competition. NCIS claimed victory in both total viewers and 18-49 categories with 18.6 million viewers overall with a 3.3 rating. NBC’s The Biggest Loser was seen by 7 million viewers with a 2.0 rating while teen drama 90210 on The CW continued with 1.2 million viewers and a 0.7 18-49 rating. Raising Hope on Fox pulled in 3.7 million viewers with a 1.6 rating followed by I Hate My Teenage Daughter which had just 2.9 million viewers with a 1.2 rating. Last Man Standing on ABC at 8pm had 7 million viewers with a 1.9 rating followed by Courtney Cox series Cougar Town with 4.6 million viewers and a 1.6 rating.

At 9pm NCIS: Los Angels was seen by 16 million viewers with a 2.8 rating while The River on ABC dropped to 3.9 million viewers with a 1.4 rating – making its cancellation even more likely. Another series likely to be cancelled is The CW’s Ringer, starring Sarah Michelle Gellar, which had 1.1 million viewers and a 0.5 rating a far cry from its debut last year. New Girl on Fox pulled in 6.9 million viewers with a 2.6 rating followed by Breaking In with 2.9 million and a 1.3 rating – cancellation looming also.
