Alcatraz finale draws low ratings
J.J Abram’s new Fox series Alcatraz reached its finale last night with low ratings mean its renewal seem increasingly unlikely. Elsewhere on Monday evening it was a roster of repeats as The Voice and Dancing with the Stars dominated the ratings.
Between 8pm and 10pm NBC‘s The Voice and ABC‘s Dancing with the Stars once again battled for rating supremacy with each claiming victory in different categories. Dancing with the Stars won by total viewers with 17.6 million viewers compared with The Voice‘s 11.7 but the situation was reversed for 18-49 ratings. The Voice had a 4.4 rating while Dancing with the Stars had a 3.1 rating. How does that compare with last week? Well last week The Voice had a slightly higher 4.4 rating while Dancing with the Stars had a 3.5 rating – slipping further than its rival.
Elsewhere on Monday evening it was a night of repeats with Fox‘s J.J Abrams series Alcatraz reaching its season finale. Alcatraz bowed out with 4.7 million viewers with a 1.5 18-49 rating compared with last week’s 5 million viewers and a flat 1.5 18-49 rating. The disappointing ratings performance of Alcatraz make it an unlikely candidate for renewal but you never know….Elsewhere at 8pm How I Met Your Mother (repeat) drew 5.7 million viewers with a 1.9 rating while 2 Broke Girls (repeat) pulled in 6.1 million viewers with a 2.0 rating.
At 9pm Two and a Half Men (repeat) attracted 7 million viewers with a 2.2 rating followed by Mike & Molly (repeat) with 6.2 million and a 1.9 rating. At 10pm musical drama Smash starring Debra Messing and Jack Davenport continued on NBC with 6.3 million viewers and a 2.2 rating while ABC’s Castle had 12.1 million viewers and a 2.4 rating while Hawaii Five-0 (repeat) on CBS had 6.5 million viewers with a 1.6 rating.
