Lenora Crichlow exiting Being Human

Lenora Crichlow It has been confirmed that Lenora Crichlow will not be returning to Being Human.

On Sunday evening it was announced that a fifth season of Being Human it had been ordered. It will air on BBC Three next year and comprise of six episodes – BBC America are co-funding the new series. There had been earlier speculation that the supernatural series would fall victim to a cull of drama at BBC Three – because of budget cut backs – which could also result in The Fades and Lip Service being cancelled.

While details of the new series are, obviously, being kept under wraps it has been confirmed that actress Lenora Crichlow will not be returning. Lenora Crichlow has played ghost Annie since the first series. In the original 2008 pilot the role was played by Andrea Riseborough but was recast for the first full series which followed in 2009.

The departure of Lenora Crichlow follows on from Russell Tovey who bowed out in the fourth season opener Eve of the War and Aidan Turner who exited in the season three finale The Wolf-Shaped Bullet which also marked the last appearance of Sinead Keenan.

Damien Molony will return as vampire Hal and Michael Socha will return as werewolf Tom for the fifth season.
