The Fun Lunch Mobile will be setting out from Bexleyheath on 30th March, and will travel the country visiting a different location every day throughout the Easter holidays, and for two weekends after that, finishing in Manchester on 29th April 2012. The Fun Lunch team will entertain all the family with games and activities – and will even help children who visit, to create their ultimate dream sandwich from ingredients provided.
Jo Whiley says “I’m so excited to be working with Kingsmill to help them celebrate The Big Lunch 2012, especially during The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. The tour is going to be a fantastic way to get as many children and families involved as possible, and I can’t wait to see the entries they come up with. We’re on a mission to make lunch fun for everyone!” Baking brand Kingsmill is the official sponsor of the lunch campaign.
All children will be encouraged to enter their creation into the Fun Lunch competition, for the chance to win a Big Lunch for their street, including food and soft drinks for 100 people, street party decorations, a sound system, games and Jo herself as an extra special VIP guest on 3rd June to celebrate the Queen’s 60 years on her royal throne.
The UK tour is part of an ongoing campaign to get the country in the mood for The Big Lunch 2012, which this year lands on The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee weekend, 3rd June. The Big Lunch invites friends, families and communities to sit down and enjoy lunch together.
46-year-old Jo Whiley is best known for her radio shows on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 2 as well as a stint as a Top of the Pops presenter for BBC One.
