Sharon Osbourne: Quitting X Factor was 'dumb'
Sharon Osbourne had admitted that quitting the X Factor was a ‘dumb’.
Osbourne was part of the original judges panel of the X Factor when it launched in 2004 alongside Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh. The original line-up of judges remained until the fourth series in 2007 when Australian singer Dannii Minogue was added to the panel It was widely reported that Osbourne and Minogue had a ‘personality clash’ which resulted in Osbourne quitting at the end of the fourth season.
According to The Sun Osbourne has now admitted it might have been a mistake to quit. The Sun quotes her as saying ‘It was a dumb move, but emotionally right. It was a huge show, it paid so well, so much came from it. But I wasn’t happy, so I walked away with dignity. Simon always ends up firing someone. I didn’t want to give him the satisfaction. He always wants someone young and perky-t*tted sat next to him’
However, while she may have admitted it was a ‘dumb’ idea to quit in the first place she has no plans on returning remarking ‘Simon wouldn’t let them and I don’t give a sh*t because I can go, f*ck you.’
Sharon Osbourne was replaced on the judges panel by Cheryl Cole who remained with the X Factor until 2010 when both she and Minogue along with Simon Cowell quit. For the 2011 series of the X Factor new judges Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos were drafted in alongside the last remaining original judge; Louis Walsh. The line-up for this year’s X Factor has not yet been officially confirmed but it is expected that Barlow, Walsh and Contostavlos will return.
