Jared Padalecki expects 8th season of Supernatural

Jared Padalecki has said he expects The CW to renew Supernatural for an 8th season.

Supernatural is currently airing its 7th season on The CW and nearing its season finale. As yet the series has not been renewed by The CW for another season but actor Jared Padalecki is confident over the show’s future.

In an interview with Crave Online the actor said of an 8th season ‘Yes, frankly I do expect [it],Not for any reason, so don’t read into it, but especially [at the People’s Choice Awards] we won Best Sci-fi, Best Drama network. So thank you, that’s really awesome.’

There’s no denying that ratings for Supernatural haven’t been as high as in previous years but the drama is still widely expected to be renewed. The CW has struggled across the board with its drama output this year with all of its shows down on previous seasons but Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries and The Secret Circle are three ‘genre shows’ that are expected to be renewed.
