Jeremy Carver to become show-runner on Supernatural

SupernaturalJeremy Carver is to become show-runner of CW series Supernatural giving fans confidence the show will be renewed for an 8th season.

There is to be a change of hands behind-the-scenes of Supernatural with current show-runner Sera Gamble stepping down according to Entertainment Weekly. Gamble will be replaced by Jeremy Carver who previously worked on the drama between 2007 and 2010. More recently Carver has been Syfy‘s Being Human – which has just been renewed for a third season.

The fact that The CW are bringing in a new show-runner for Supernatural is a big hint it will be renewed for an 8th season. The drama has not officially been renewed, as of yet, but cast member Jared Padalecki is confident of a renewal. While its ratings have been down for the 7th season ratings for all of The CW’s shows have been down – so that’s no indication it will be dropped. In fact Supernatural, and The Vampire Diaries, are amongst The CW’s shows which are almost certain to be renewed.
