TNT nearing deal to renew Southland
TNT is nearing a deal to renew cop drama Southland for a fifth season.
Variety reports that talks are taking place between broadcaster TNT and producers Warner Bros TV about a fifth season. Variety reports that while TNT is keen to order a 10-part season producers John Wells, Christopher Chulack and Jonathan Lisco are keen to extend Southland‘s run to 13 episodes. A deal is expected to be reached later this week.
Ratings for the fourth season of Southland have risen. The cop drama originally aired on NBC but the broadcaster cancelled it before the second season have even aired. TNT acquired the series and aired the second season episodes; later it commissioned a third season due to Southland‘s good performance. The series stars Benjamin McKenzie, Regina King and Michael Cudiltz. {jcomments off}
