Fringe fate to be revealed this week?

A producer on the quirky Fox series Fringe has teased fans that its fate should be revealed by the end of the week.

Fringe fans are waiting once more to see whether their beloved show will be renewed for another season or axed because of its low ratings. Conventional wisdom says Fringe‘s low ratings should seal its fate – i.e the axe – but the Fox series has survived before. Fringe producer Joel Wyman has revealed on Twitter the wait to find out the show’s fate is nearly over.

The general opinion on the fate of Fringe has shifted away from cancellation towards renewal – for a fifth and final season ala Chuck. Many believe that Fox will renew the series for a shortened final season to allow producers to tie up the storylines. But will this be the case or will Fox surprise everyone and cancel the series outright? By the end of the week we should know.
