MTV celebrates the Titanic Belfast Museum with music concert
MTV UK is to broadcast a concert in celebration of the opening of Belfast’s new Titanic museum. Stars lined up to perform on MTV Presents Titanic Sounds include Pixie Lott, Olly Murs, Katy B and Sean Paul.
Set against the backdrop of the iconic new building, which houses the story of the ill-fated liner that sank 100 years ago this weekend, a free pop festival takes place tonight to mark the opening of the home of Titanic’s story in Belfast.
With a capacity of 16000 pop fans the festival is staged in collaboration with Belfast City Council and Northern Ireland Tourist Board the organisers have lined up a star set of singers with Olly Murs, Sean Paul, Rizzle Kicks, Pixie Lott and Katy B.
Pixie Lott says of the event, “I’m really excited to be going back to Belfast… you guys know how to have a good time! Woohoo!”
Shining its global spotlight on Belfast, MTV UK will be filming the concert for broadcast across 63 MTV channels and 153 territories around the world as part of its World Stage music series. MTV Presents Titanic Sounds performances will also be broadcast on MTV UK’s music channels from 5th May 2012 the broadcaster state.
