Gary Barlow returning to The X Factor
Gary Barlow is the first judge to be confirmed for the new series of The X Factor.
ITV confirmed the news today as speculation begins whether any of the judges will return this year following a fall in ratings. Simon Cowell says: “It’s great to be able to confirm our first judge for this year’s show. Gary has earned his place and I’m excited to be working with him again.”
Gary joined the panel alongside new recruits Kelly Rowland and Tulisa Contostavlos. The series was won by Tulisa’s group Little Mix.
Peter Fincham, ITV’s Director of Television, says: “Gary quickly established himself as a key member of The X Factor judging panel, drawing on his years of experience in the music industry to help in the search for our undiscovered singing stars. I’m thrilled to welcome him back to the biggest show on British television.”
The show has also confirmed that those who have had, or currently have, a management deal can enter the competition provided that they are 16 or over.
