BAFTA TV nominations revealed
ITV’s drama about notorious murderer Fred West leads this year’s BAFTA TV nominations.Appropriate Adult has been nominated in four categories with actor Dominic West up for Leading Actor and Emily Watson for Leading Actress. Monica Dolan is nominated for Supporting Actress as her role as Rosemary West.
In the Leading Actor category West will be up against Sherlock’s Benedict Cumberbatch, Exile actor John Simm and Joseph Gilgun for his role in This Is England ‘88. For the top female Watson is up against Nadine Marshall (Random), Romola Garai (The Crimson Petal and the White) and Vicky McClure (This Is England ‘88).
In the Soap and Continuing Drama category will see the usual top two soaps, Coronation Street and EastEnders go against medical drama Holby City and Shameless. Mrs Brown’s Boys, which became a massive hit for BBC One, is nominated for Situation Comedy. Creator of the show, Brendan O’Carroll is nominated for Male Performance in a Comedy Programme.
