House of Commons speaker John Bercow granted Labour an ‘urgent question’ over accusations that Hunt has broken the ministerial code.
Hunt came under pressure last week when it was revealed his special advisor, Adam Smith, had been emailing News Corporation over the process of the BSkyB takeover bid. Smith resigned last Wednesday morning following the cache of emails released at Leveson.
The Prime Minister has fended off the suggestion that the matter should be referred to Sir Alex Allan, independent ministerial advisor and insists that Hunt should give his account at the Leveson Inquiry.

“I have seen no evidence to suggest that, in handling this issue, the Secretary of State acted at any stage in a way that was contrary to the ministerial code.” – PM in House of Commons today

Cameron has said that the Leveson Inquiry, who is leading the inquiry into UK press operations, was the right course to establish the facts. The PM confirmed that he had spoken to Cabinet Secretary Sir Jeremy Heywood over the issue.
Labour leader Ed Miliband is insistent that Hunt is in breach of the ministerial code.
