Gossip Girl ratings drop to season low

The CW’s teen-drama Gossip Girl dropped to a new season low on Monday evening as the fifth season continues to struggle for ratings.

Once again the main battle of Monday evening was between NBC’s The Voice and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars both of which can claim victory in different categories. The Voice topped the evening in terms of 18-49 viewers with its 3.7 rating but overall it had 10.1 million viewers whereas Dancing with the Stars had a significantly higher 17.2 million viewers but had a 3.0 rating.

CBS aired a night of repeats kicking off at 8pm with comedy How I Met Your Mother which was seen by 4.7 million viewers with a 1.7 rating followed by 2 Broke Girls with 5.2 million viewers and a 1.8 rating. Bones on Fox pulled in 7.2 million viewers with a 2.2 18-49 rating while teen drama Gossip Girl dropped to a new season low on The CW with 1 million viewers and a 0.5 rating.

At 9pm medical drama House continued its final season on Fox with 6.5 million viewers scoring a 2.3 18-49 rating while Two and a Half Men on CBS had 6.6 million viewers with a 2.0 rating followed by Mike & Molly with 6 million viewers and a 1.8 18-49 rating. Hart of Dixie on The CW pulled in 1.2 million viewers with a 0.5 rating.

At 10pm musical drama Smash, starring Debra Messing and Jack Davenport, saw a slight rise in ratings with 6.1 million viewers and a 2.1 18-49 rating opposite a repeat of Hawaii Five-0 on CBS which had 7.6 million viewers and a 1.6 rating.
