Cougar Town's ratings drop to season low
ABC comedy Cougar Town, starring Courtney Cox, dropped to a new season low last night.
8pm: The hour was won completely by NCIS on CBS which had 17.2 million viewers with a 3.0 18-49 rating. Musical comedy Glee saw its ratings drop but managed to come second in the hour in terms of 18-49 viewers with a 2.3 rating but had 5.9 million viewers overall. That figure puts it behind the season finale of The Biggest Loser on NBC which had 7.1 million viewers and a 2.1 rating and Last Man Standing on ABC which had 6.4 million viewers but had a 1.4 18-49 rating. At 8.30pm on ABC comedy Cougar Town, starring Courtney Cox, dropped to a new season low of 4.9 million viewers with a 1.3 18-49 rating. The 8pm hour was rounded off by teen drama 90210 on The CW which pulled in 1.1 million viewers with a 0.6 rating.
At 9pm The Voice narrowly won the hour in the 18-49 category with its 3.1 rating but had 8.8 million viewers overall. NCIS: Los Angeles won the hour with its total viewers figure of 15 million viewers with a 3.0 rating; last night’s episode featured a crossover with fellow CBS drama Hawaii Five-O. The Dancing with the Stars results show on ABC had 13.4 million viewers with a 2.3 rating while Fox comedy New Girl pulled in 4.3 million viewers with a 2.1 rating. The new episode was followed by a repeat of the Zooey Deschanel comedy which had 2.8 million viewers with a 1.1 18-49 rating. The CW’s new Canadian drama L.A Complex continued to struggle with ratings after last week’s disastrous premier; 570,000 viewers tuned in last night with a 0.3 18-49 rating.
At 10pm ABC’s medical drama Private Practice lost viewers with 7.6 million tuning in scoring a 2.1 18-49 rating. It has been suggested in recent days that ABC are considering ordering a sixth and final season of the Grey’s Anatomy spin-off.
