Ofcom re-awards the Ceredigion licence to Radio Ceredigion
Ofcom has today announced the award of the re-advertised FM local commercial radio licence for Ceredigion.
The regulator received two applications for the licence, incumbent licensee Radio Ceredigion Ltd, and from Radio Ceredigion 2012 cyf.
Radio Today said earlier this year that the second applicant proposd to invite local residents of Ceredigion to be ‘shareholders’, with 1,000 people investing £100 in the station to fund its ‘launch’.
Radio Ceredigion is wholly owned by Town & Country Broadcasting Ltd. It will provide “a local news, music and information service for Ceredigion targeting a broad 15+ audience and including regular and identifiable Welsh language programming.”
