NBC Renews Law & Order: Special Victims Unit

Law & Order: Special Victims Unit has been renewed for a 14th season by NBC which has also picked up new Dick Wolf drama Chicago Fire.

They’ll be a Law & Order series on the box for at least another season as NBC confirms it had renewed Special Victims Unit for a 14th season despite falling the ratings. The renewal comes after the demise of parent series Law & Order and new spin-off Law & Order: Los Angeles which was the first spin-off in the franchise to be based outside of New York. However, despite the demise of several Law & Order shows the franchise isn’t quite dead yet but if ratings continue to decline for SVU don’t expect it to be around for much longer.

Another Dick Wolf series to be picked by NBC is new drama Chicago Fire which is described as an “action-driven drama exploring the complex and heroic men and women of the Windy City’s Fire Department.” The drama will star Jesse Spencer, Lauren German and David Eigenberg.
