ABC Renews Grey's Anatomy and Castle
ABC has renewed several shows including Grey’s Anatomy and Castle.
Veteran medical drama Grey’s Anatomy will return for a ninth season; ABC has given the Shonda Rhimes series a new season order. However, the fate of its spin-off Private Practice is still unclear though it is widely expected to be handed a final season order consisting of 13 episodes. Rhimes’ other ABC drama Scandal is also widely expected to be renewed for a second season though no news of its official fate just yet.
Nathan Fillion’s hugely popular detective drama Castle has been granted a fifth season. ABC has also renewed fantasy drama Once Upon A Time for a second season and soapy drama Revenge for a second outing as well. ABC has also picked up comedies Modern Family, Suburgatory and The Middle for new seasons.
However, comedies Happy Endings and Last Man Standing have not yet been picked up for new seasons but are expected to be. Soapy drama GCB (Good Christian Bitches), Missing and Body of Proof, starring Dana Delany and Jeri Ryan, have not been picked up yet either. All three shows are on the “bubble” though some rate Body of Proof‘s chances of renewal higher because of its strong international sales.
