Kym Marsh Signs New Corrie Deal

Kym Marsh has reportedly signed a new contract to remain with ITV soap Coronation Street.

The Daily Star Sunday reports the actress has signed a new deal to continue playing Michelle Connor for a further three years – the tabloid reports the deal is worth £500,000. Earlier this year Marsh revealed her contract expired in June and she was unsure whether Corrie bosses would renew her contract.

Kym is a very talented actress and singer. The scriptwriters have come up with some pretty explosive stuff for her and wanted her signed up for three years so it could all play out. The majority of the cast are either on six-month or one-year contracts. They only ever give these types of deals out when they really want to keep someone….There are some major storylines coming up for her and people are going to see a completely different side to Michelle in the months to come – A “source” quoted by the Daily Star Sunday

Marsh first appeared in Coronation Street in 2006. The actress has, on occasions, taken time out from the soap for other projects.
