Alan Partridge returns to TV on Sky Atlantic
Sky Atlantic HD is to air several new Alan Partridge comedy programmes following a new deal.
The deal has been struck between Baby Cow Productions and Sky to produce a number of specials featuring Steve Coogan’s most famous character Alan Partridge, alongside other Baby Cow projects.
Alan Partridge: Welcome To The Places Of My Life and Alan Partridge On Open Books With Martin Bryce form two new one-hour specials which will air in June. A special re-edited series Mid Morning Matters will also be shown on Sky Atlantic HD later in the month. A second series will then air in 2013.
“I’m very excited about continuing our fruitful working relationship with Lucy Lumsden and Stuart Murphy with a host of exciting new shows for Sky Atlantic including several new incarnations of Alan Partridge. Alan has been off the TV for too long but he is even more excited than me about his chance to have a second bite of the cherry. Alan feels the second decade of the millennium is the right time.” – Steve Coogan
In addition, Sky Atlantic HD will hold the world television premieres of Uncle Wormsley’s Christmas – an animation narrated by Steve Coogan and voiced by Julia Davis, Julian Barratt and John Thompson. A two part series, Steve Coogan’s Stand Up Down Under, will air footage of behind the scenes on his Australian live tour.
“Sky Atlantic looks like being at a party everyone wants to go to. I feel really fortunate that Baby Cow can be at the beginning of this great adventure.” – Baby Cow’s Henry Normal
Baby Cow Productions is co-owned by Steve Coogan and Henry Normal.
