Gossip Girl Final Season Order Undecided

The sixth and final season of Gossip Girl may be longer than previously thought.

The teen drama was renewed for a sixth and final season by The CW last week and it was initially thought the season would consist of 11 episodes. However, CW president Mark Pedowitz has now suggested that the actual episode count for the final series is still undecided and only 11 have been ordered so far.

“I haven’t announced anything yet,…Our goal is to run it in the fall and end it in the fall. We will make a determination on how best to do that later….” – Mark Pedowitz as quoted by Entertainment Weekly

Producer Josh Schwartz continued to hint the sixth season would be 11 episodes long stating “It’s season 6. A lot of stories have been told. We celebrated our 100th episode this year and all you want is the opportunity to bring the show to a close in a way that’s satisfying for fans. Eleven episodes is the perfect amount, actually”
