Ashley Margolis Confirms Hollyoaks Exit

Actor Ashley Margolis has announced he is leaving Channel Four soap Hollyoaks.

Margolis has played teenager Ricky Campbell in Hollyoaks since 2009; introduced by producer-of-the-time Lucy Allen. Margolis took time out from Hollyoaks in 2010 to concentrate on his studies and nearly left the soap last year but was convinced to remain with the series.

However, the actor confirmed yesterday, on his Twitter page, that he had decided to leave Hollyoaks. Margolis wrote on Twitter “So I can finally say.. My final eps have been written. I will be leaving the show next month. It’s been a fab 3 years but time to move on!”. Margolis added “It was a tough decision to leave but I want to do other things!! I’ve had the best 3 years of annoying my castmates! They will miss me.. “

Margolis is expected to remain on-screen for several months.
