Stephanie Beacham Joins Trollied

Stephanie Beacham has joined the cast of Sky One comedy Trollied.

Stephanie Beacham in Dynasty

The former Dynasty and Bad Girls actress has been cast as Lorraine; the new “no-nonsense” manager of Valco Supermarket. The Sky One comedy, revolving around a supermarket, proved to be a hit for the broadcaster last year with a second and third series, as well as a Christmas Special, being commissioned. Trollied stars Jane Horrocks, Rita May,  Mark Addy and Jason Watkins.

“Lorraine is the most outrageous human being I have ever been given the joyful task of portraying….Lucky me, bad luck anyone who crosses her.” – Stephanie Beacham

Beacham will not be the only new addition to the cast for the second series as former Waterloo Road actor and Celebrity Big Brother housemate Lucien Laviscount and Bread actor Victor McGuire will also join the cast along with David Ryall and Jo Enright. Trollied is part of Sky’s plans to invest more in original UK content with other shows such as Mount Pleasant, Stella and The Cafe being notable examples.

Stephanie Beacham is still probably best remembered for playing the glamorous Sable Colby in Dynasty and its spin-off The Colby’s. Beacham also played fan favourite Phyl Oswyn, one half of the Costa Cons, in ITV prison drama Bad Girls. Beacham’s other memorable roles include a three month stint in Coronation Street in 2009 as Martha Fraser – one of Ken Barlow’s (William Roache) many love affairs – as Dr. Kristin Westphalen in the 1990s sci-fi series SeaQuest DSV. Beacham was also a housemate in the 2010 series of Celebrity Big Brother.
