Tim Vine Quits Not Going Out?

Tim Vine has reportedly quit BBC One comedy Not Going Out.

According to reports the comedian has decided to quit the Friday evening comedy as he is looking for “a change”. Not Going Out has been renewed for a further two seasons, according to The Sun, with producers now seeking new cast members to join the comedy in light of Vine’s decision to leave.

“I’m great friends with everyone on the cast and I’ve had a great time doing it but after five series I simply fancied a change” – Tim Vine, quoted a saying.
“Tim loves the show and it has made him a big star. But he has now had enough. He’s got lots of other work coming in and is keen to try other things. He’s been doing the show for six years and has been through the highs and lows. But he figures he may as well quit while he is ahead and make the most of his popularity.” – A “friend” of Vine quoted by The Sun

Not Going Out returned to BBC One in April for its fifth season. The comedy was originally axed by the BBC in 2009 after its third season. However, BBC executives later had a change of heart and commissioned a fourth season later that year. Comedian Miranda Hart appeared in the second and third season of Not Going Out as accident prone cleaner Barbara. Hart went on to land her own self-titled BBC Two comedy which proved to be extremely popular with viewers.
