Katee Sackhoff Auditioned For Once Upon A Time
Former Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff has revealed she auditioned for ABC drama Once Upon A Time.
Sackhoff auditioned for the role of Emma Swann in the fantasy drama which eventually went to Jennifer Morrison. Sackhoff told Collider ‘I walked away from Once Upon A Time and focused on Longmire…..It was just those two jobs. Those were the only two pilots I loved that year.” The actress added she could tell the producers were keen to cast Morrison in the role ‘I could tell, from the very beginning, that they really wanted her….She and I go up against each other quite a bit. We’re very similar.‘
Once Upon A Time has been a ratings hit for ABC on Sunday evenings especially compared to Pan-Am and GCB two fellow Sunday dramas recently axed by the broadcaster following disappointing ratings. Once Upon A Time revolves around the residents of Storybrooke, a small town in Maine, who are really characters from fairy-tales but trapped in ‘our world’ by a dark curse unaware of their true identities.
Katee Sackhoff will next be seen in A&E’s new drama series Longmire. The actress is best known to sci-fi fans for her role of Kara ‘Starbuck’ Thrace in Syfy’s critically acclaimed ‘re-imaged’ Battlestar Galactica. Since the series ended in 2009 Sackhoff has been busy with roles in Nip/Tuck, 24 and CSI.
Longmire will premier on Sunday 3rd June on A&E in America. In the UK Once Upon A Time is currently airing on Channel 5 on Sunday evenings.
