Andy Coulson detained on perjury charges

Former Downing Street communications director detained in Scotland.
Andy Coulson was detained by Strathclyde Police in London earlier this morning, according to STV News. Coulson was forced to resign as communications director at No.10 last year following pressure over phone-hacking allegations.
Coulson was former editor of News Of The World and gave evidence against politician Tommy Sheridan, who was jailed for three years for lying under oath during his defamation case against the now defunct Sunday newspaper.
