The Voice UK: Leanne Mitchell fails to reach Top 40

The first ever winner of The Voice UK has failed to reach the UK Top 40.

Leanne Mitchell was crowned the winner last Saturday and her cover of Whitney Houston’s ‘Run To You’ was released the following day. Despite making it into the midweek singles chart, the official list today has Mitchell in at No.45.
She was coached on The Voice by singing legend Sir Tom Jones but was not expected to win according to the bookies odds. They had Bo Bruce, mentored by The Script lead singer Danny O’Donoghue the favourite to win the BBC competition.
The original Whitney version, from the soundtrack to the film ‘The Bodyguard’, reached N0.15 in 1993.
