Mad Men Hits Ratings High For Season Finale

The fifth season of AMC‘s Mad Men drew to a close with the critical darling hitting a new ratings high.

It would seem Mad Men‘s long absence from television while deals were being worked out to secure its future hasn’t dented the public’s great love for it. The hiatus for Mad Men meant there was a considerable gap between the fourth and fifth seasons of the 1960s based drama but viewers haven’t fallen out of love with the likes of Don Draper (Jon Hamm) or Peggy (Elisabeth Moss).

The fifth season of Mad Men drew to a close on Sunday evening with 2.7 million viewers which makes it the highest rating for a season finale so far. Across the fifth season the drama averaged 2.6 million viewers which is also a rise on the previous seasons. It would seem there’s no stopping Mad Men!

Elsewhere on Sunday evening A&E’s new drama Longmire, starring Katee Sackhoff, saw a rise in ratings with 4.1 million viewers.
