Yotam Ottolenghi on Channel 4's menu
Channel 4 has commissioned a brand new food series fronted by acclaimed and inventive chef Yotam Ottolenghi, who has revolutionised Mediterranean and Middle-Eastern food in the UK.
Yotam Ottolenghi’s Mediterranean Feasts will take viewers on a culinary journey through the riads of Morocco to the exotic eateries of Istanbul, from the souks of Tunisia to the eclectic food markets of Israel.
Yotam was brought up in Jerusalem at the crossroads of conflicting food cultures, and this part of the world has captured his imagination since childhood. Across the series, he will meet cutting edge chefs and local food heroes; experience the remarkable repertoire of street food across the region; and pick new and exciting flavours to blend with traditional and timeless classics.
From infinitely colourful starters and easy mezze to the slow-cooked meat stews and couscous that underpin the cuisine of Morocco, through home curing and wild foods, Mediterranean Feasts will showcase Yotam’s passion for the food of North Africa and the Eastern Mediterranean, and deliver delicious and exciting dishes viewers can effortlessly cook at home.
The four part series was ordered by Channel 4 Features Commissioning Editor Katie Boyd, she says “Middle Eastern cuisine is still a mystery to most of us, and Yotam Ottolenghi is the best man to show viewers how delicious, accessible and surprisingly simple recipes from this part of the world really are.”
The hour long cookery shows will air on More 4 later this year.
