Robert Patrick Joins True Blood

Terminator 2 actor Robert Patrick has joined the cast of True Blood.

According to The Hollywood Reporter the actor will appear in the fifth season of the vampire drama which kicked off on Sunday evening on HBO. Patrick’s role will be recurring; he will play Jackson Herveaux the father of werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello). Patrick will make his True Blood debut in August first appearing in flashbacks to Alcide’s youth.

Robert Patrick is probably best known for his role in the 1991 film Terminator 2: Judgement Day but has a long and varied career. Genre wise he played the recurring role of John  Doggett in the X Files between 2000 and 2002 and has also guest starred in Stargate Atlantis. Patrick’s other notable roles include The Unit, Burn Notice, NCIS, Lost and The Sopranos.

The fifth season of True Blood has seen several new additions to the cast such as Oz/Law & Order: SVU actor Christopher Meloni, Spartacus actor Peter Mensah and Robin Hood actress Lucy Griffiths.
